A drink everyone should try (well those 21 and above)
Shandy: Mix of 1/2 cup ale, 1/2 cup lemonade. Sounds gross? It is not. It is refreshing and quite delicious.
Story behind the shandy: In 2006, Keith, Craig, and I traveled to Scotland with roughly 20 students from Messalonskee High School. It was by far, one of the best experiences of my life. Not only did I get to go to Scotland, but I got to do it with those two S.O.Bs.
We had a great guide in Marty Ross who introduced us to some great culture as well as good drink. The first night we went out, just the four of us, we all shared a beer. (ok,not one but 4). Craig, not understanding drinking ettiquette, ordered a Michalob. IN Scotland, we call that a imported beer. But over time, Craig changed his tune and accepted the culture, and the shandy.
I promise, if you try one, you will love it. Lower alcohol level and refreshing taste. GO FOR IT.
BTW, by the middle of August, a brand new delicious batch of Pumpkinhead will be availabe at stores near you…unless you don’t live in NE, then it might be tougher.

UPDATE: I have created a really good shandy. Use 1/2 glass of cold Blue Moon and 1/2 glass of lemonade. A few things. Make sure your beer is cold, real cold. Also, don’t be cheap and buy the .88 cent lemonade. You want to buy one with a bit of tang to it. You will be pleasantly surprised.
