Grave Encounters Trailer

Sorry about the lack of updates this past week. Real life sometimes gets in the way. Holiday + Track Meet + Karate Tournament + Recital Week for 2 Girls = Dad and Mom need a night out.

Granted my right to choose a movie has been revoked by the other two Derosby brothers (and I won’t argue, it’s for good reason), but this one definitely looks like a “boys night out” flick just waiting to happen, followed by a frosty cold beverage or two.

Probably one of the best horror movie trailers I’ve seen in a long time.

Marvel Spoofs with “Little Thor” Commercial

Marvel, you did good. My vote still goes with Little Vader, but this one is a close second.

Great commercial to start off the season

I just saw this commercial on MLB network and thought I would post it.  It symbolizes all that is good with the game.  Keith and I chat relentlessly about whose team is better and each spring, I have reasons why the Mets are.  It is crazy that fans of any team find Spring Training to be a rebirth and positive thoughts on all teams….well except the Pirates.  Enjoy.

5 and 5: Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Comic Movie Scenes – Part 1 Best 5

I’d like to revive what I think is arguably one of Alan’s best ideas, the 5 and 5. I thought of this on the drive to work this morning. What about the best and worst scenes from some of my favorite movies? So I put together the list of my favorite, thinking up most of them right on the spot (wasn’t too difficult). I’ve also got some of the worst already planned. I’ll post that later today or this weekend as time permits.

What are your favorites? Feel free to share your favorite, berate my choices, whatever. Here are mine.

1. Spider-Man 2: The Train Scene. When the crowd is looking over his body and you hear the “he’s just a kid”, then the little boy hands him the mask, it’s just pure power. It’s also one of my all-time favorite movies, so that helps.

2. The Crow: The Shootout Scene. How much ass did this kick. Still a powerful movie 2 decades later. The fact that the studio is “rebooting” this film doesn’t settle well with me, kids.

3. The Empire Strikes Back: I am your Father. Okay, make fun of this one as much as you want. At the time, this scene blew people out of their seats in theaters around the world. I had heard about the Easter Egg surprise ending from all my friends (it took me 2 months to see it in the theater, I was sick when my brothers and sister went to see it) and it still worked. The baddest ass in the known universe, who killed your mentor and your dad and has been hunting you and your friends between movies turns out to be your DAD? Just icing on the best cake in the entire 6 movie lot.

4. 300: Final Battle. What can you say about this one? Just stunning. Enjoy

5. The Dark Knight: Pencil Trick. This scene immediately sold Heath Ledger as the Clown Prince of Crime for me. Perfection. My favorite line isn’t the pencil trick though. It’s “I’m not crazy…..I’m notttt”.

6. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers: Dawn at Helm’s Deep. (bonus scene) One of the most epic battles in all of cinema. Almost made the top 5 for me, but I had to put The Crow in there for nostalgic purposes.

X-Men: First Class International Trailer

Thanks as always to Comingsoon.net for posting this up for us.

I’m still torn. As a huge X-junkie, I was disappointed with the X-movies overall. The second film was good, but the first one changed the mythology too much for me, and the third? Let’s not even talk about that steaming pantload.

The Hangover 2 Official Trailer

and now in stark contrast to my last post, the family-friendly Peanuts graphic novel, I present the official trailer to The Hangover 2.  I understand the studio pulled this yesterday due to something slightly “unpresentable” in this.  Enjoy before it mysteriously disappears.

New Thundercats Trailer, Thanks Again to WonderCon

And this one also looks much better than the first sneak peek trailer that was released a few weeks ago…or was it a few months ago? I’ve lost track. Anyway, give it a watch. Especially you Keith and Dave. Thanks to Comics Alliance for posting this up.

New Thor Clip (Courtesy of Omnicomic)

I’d like to thank Jonathan over at Omnicomic for posting this up. Not a trailer so much as one scene showing his unceremonious arrival on Earth. You can follow the link below to jump over to Omnicomic to see the clip or view it below. He and his co-authors have a great site. Give them a look when you get a chance. Thanks Jonathan.

New Green Lantern Trailer, shown at WonderCon 2011

Okay, now this is better. I’m starting to think this one might be worth the hype now.

Two Reasons to Celebrate: Opening Day and the Arrival of the Newest Derosby Brother

I dedicate these videos to my brothers. It’s that time of year kids. I’ve even gotten into the spirit, joining up in their fantasy league. I don’t know baseball, so we’ll see how well I do. I’m holding out for September when the Patriots take the field again.

I’d also like to welcome the newest Derosby brother, Keene Robert Derosby, who joined our family on March 28th. Congrats to Keith and Elaine for yet another gorgeous Derosby kid. I’m still not sure how we pulled off so many cute kids, as it’s certainly not because of the Derosby genes.
