Collector’s Glasses: Burger King’s Star Trek Glasses

As you may know from my previous post on the topic of collector beverageware, I’m a bit of a fan.  Not that I have much, but I wish I did.

We’re having a bit of a blizzard here in the northeast today.  I had to leave the house this morning as Zoe’s doctor’s appointment was moved up.  I’m guessing everybody with an ounce of common sense cancelled, which leaves the door wide open for those of us with little to none to run rampant.  On the way back home, I decided to stop at our local discount mart, Marden’s, for a new pair of boots.  I didn’t find any boots, but I did find cases and cases of the Star Trek glasses from Burger King promoting the 2009 JJ Abrams movie for $0.50 per glass.

I was never a huge Star Trek fan, but I did like the new movie and well, you know me and glasses.

So as soon as I get one washed, I’ll fill it with a frosty cold beverage of choice and tip my glass to Marden’s and our new Governor Paul Lepage.  You might be a bit nuts, you might not have the best judgement when it comes to picking your words carefully, and you may not have made a friend of the NAACP (kiss your butt indeed), but your store made my day today.

For the record, I had to go to another store for my boots.  Can’t have everything.

Movies I’m Looking Forward to in 2009 – Part 2

GI Joe:  The Rise of Cobra

The GI Joe movie may be good.  I hope it’s not the Van Damme Street Fighter movie reincarnated.  Twice-baked poo is just as bad the second time around.  Follow this link for some spofulous new photos of our brand new Joe team.  Yo Joe !!!  (thanks, IGN…I hope I’m allowed to post this link) http://media.movies.ign.com/media/552/552248/imgs_1.html

Star Trek:

I was always a Star Wars fan, but I can appreciate good Sci-Fi.  Thanks to Kevin M (a friend of mine from college) who enlighened us to the good, the bad, and the Shatner that is the Star Trek movie franchise.  The trailer for this movie looks amazing, and the promo media I’ve seen is well done.  I’ll definitely see this in the theaters (if time, money, and babysitter provides).

Dragonball Z:

….just kidding.   This one does look like the reincarnation of Street Fighter.  James Marsters…..what the hell was he thinking?
